Members of the HAS community will be part of an upcoming public art festival in downtown Hartford, Nov. 13 through Nov. 15. Among those participating include illustration student Brigitte Reyes Rosario, Robert Calafiore (Associate Dean of Administration and Finance), and other alumni and members of the HAS community (Tao LaBossiere, Carter Davis, Claudine Purdue, Mya Terry, Sophie Groenstein, and others) who will have some of their works displayed in a digital mural. They all join faculty member Katherine Owens from UHart’s College of Arts and Sciences who also has a piece included in this event.
The public can view the digital art mural on the Frontier Communications building at 111 Trumbull Street, from Nov. 13 through Nov. 15, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night. The event begins with a 5 p.m. kickoff party at the carousel in Bushnell Park. Each night will include food trucks and music, according to RiseUP.
This project from Rise Up for the Arts will include artists representing regions all around the world including local artists, state artists, and artists from other countries like France, China, and Australia.
According to RiseUP, the best viewing spot is by the Bushnell Park pond and carousel, where you can enjoy the full impact of this one-of-a-kind projection on the Frontier Communications building. There are also other great viewing points throughout the west-side of downtown Hartford, including right on Interstate-84.
