Recently, members of the UHart community gathered at The Metropolitan Opera to experience the talents of one of The Hartt School’s most famous alumnus Ryan Speedo Green ’08. Green is currently performing in Jake Heggie’s Moby-Dick in the role of Queequeg, where he returns to The Met for his thirteenth season.

Attendees included UHart alumni, accompanied by UHart President Ward, Hartt’s Dean Merrill, and Alex Coury '08, M'10 (Associate Vice President for Industry Partnerships and Career Experiences at UHart)  The group attended this extraordinary performance and even had a "meet-and-greet" with Green post-show.

Moby-Dick is Green's third show this season at The Metropolitan Opera, having also been featured as Ferrando in Il Trovatore and The Geisterbote in Die Frau ohne Schatten. Green made his Met debut as Mandarin in Turandot in 2012. Green is a three-time Grammy Award winning bass-baritone, and named “the real showstopper” by the New York Times.
