About Dean Aarti Ivanic

Aarti Ivanic

Dean Ivanic comes to the University from Wagner College on Staten Island, New York, where she served as the founding dean of the Nicolais School of Business since 2021. Previously, Ivanic was an Associate Professor of Marketing and the academic director of MBA programs at the University of San Diego Knauss School of Business, where she oversaw curriculum, academic program review, and AACSB accreditation.

Ivanic notes that students and their experiences are always at the core of her strategic decisions. She emphasizes the mission of the Barney School of Business - to cultivate and inspire intellectually curious learners to be competent, confident, and connected business leaders - is a driving and grounding force to successfully prepare students for an evolving business landscape.

“I am excited to serve as the Dean of Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford at this incredible time of momentum. The Barney School’s focus on career readiness, market-relevant academic programs, and strong industry partnerships prepares our students for an ever-changing world."

Ivanic earned her doctoral degree in marketing from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Purdue University. Prior to academia she worked as a consultant for Booz & Company (now Strategy&, part of the PWC network). She serves as a board member of The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego.

I am thrilled to be part of a community of scholars and leaders who value and emphasize student success.
