Serving as the Student Representative to the Board of Regents is a unique and invaluable opportunity to advocate for the student body, ensuring that student voices are heard at the highest levels of university decision-making.
In this position, you will:
- Engage in Institutional Governance – Work directly with university administrators and Board Members, gaining firsthand experience in policy discussions and strategic planning.
- Advocate for Student Needs – Represent the interests, concerns, and perspectives of your peers, making a meaningful impact on the student experience.
- Develop Leadership & Professional Skills – Strengthen your ability to communicate, collaborate, and lead in a high-level setting, preparing you for future leadership roles beyond college.
- Make a Lasting Impact – Contribute to shaping policies and initiatives that will benefit current and future students.
As part of the role, the selected representative is constitutionally required to:
- Complete five (5) designated SGA office hours
- Attend House Meetings (held weekly on Wednesdays)
- Participate in Executive Board Meetings (held weekly on Mondays)
- Attend Board of Regents meetings (approximately three times per year)
