Hartt School Theatre Division Alumni Honored with Major Awards for Acclaimed New Play

The Hartt School Theatre Division proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of two alumni whose creative collaboration has earned national recognition.  

Michael Rishawn '11 has won the prestigious Lucille Lortel Award and received a Drama Desk Award nomination for his standout performance in Table 17, a critically acclaimed new play by fellow alumnus Douglas Lyons '09. Table 17 has garnered widespread acclaim for its poignant storytelling and powerful performances. Lyons, an accomplished Broadway playwright known for his work on Chicken & Biscuits continues to make waves with his bold and heartfelt narratives. His work with Rishawn, a dynamic performer in both theatre and television, exemplifies the excellence cultivated at The Hartt School.

We are thrilled to see the success of Michael and Douglas recognized at the highest levels of the theatre industry. These accolades serve as a testament to the continued impact Hartt Theatre Division graduates are making on stages across the country.
