The Educational Leadership for Social Justice (EdD) program invites qualified candidates to apply for the Fall 2026 Cohort. This practitioner-oriented doctorate prepares experienced professionals to expand their leadership impact, strengthen applied research competencies, and advance equitable organizational and educational transformation across a range of institutional contexts.

Program Information:
University of Hartford's Educational Leadership for Social Justice (EdD) program is delivered in a cohort-based model that promotes community, collaboration, and professional networking across sectors. Coursework is offered in a flexible, online modality, enabling working professionals to balance academic commitments with full-time employment. The program emphasizes strong faculty mentorship, a structured and clearly defined dissertation pathway, and a supportive learning environment.

Application Timeline and Process:

Internal University of Hartford employee applicants must submit and complete their EdD application by June 15.

Applicants who meet the June 15 completion deadline will be scheduled for a meeting with a program director or faculty member as part of the review process.

Completed applications are evaluated by program faculty for cohort selection.

Admissions decisions will be issued by July 15, with decisions of accept, waitlist, or deny.

Internal admitted candidates must accept their seat in the program by July 30. Seats not accepted by this deadline will be offered to the next internal candidate on the waitlist.
Eligibility and University Benefit Guidelines:

In accordance with University doctoral benefit policies, internal applicants are admitted based on space availability within the cohort.

To qualify for doctoral tuition remission as a University benefit, internal candidates must have a minimum of three years of employment at the University of Hartford and be admitted to the program.

The selection process is holistic and based on the overall strength of the application, supporting materials, and interview.
