National Honors Scholarship Recipient
Matthew Elwell '25 has been fortunate to secure an academic merit scholarship, which has helped cover his tuition expenses at the University of Hartford.
Matthew is a finance major from Plymouth, CT. In his time at UHart thus far, he has seized every moment for leadership opportunities, joining clubs and organizations, and expanding his skills across multiple areas of interest.
Prior to enrolling, Matthew became interested in UHart when a friend told him about the University, and after taking a tour and meeting with professors from the Barney School, he knew that being a student was more than just being a student—that you were part of a greater community where your teachers get to know you as a person. That community is one of his favorite aspects of campus because he is able to make connections every day, both academically and socially. Being the recipient of a scholarship to UHart has meant the world to him. He and his mother used to always joke that if he wanted to go to college, he would need to earn scholarships to able to attend, and he did just that! Through this achievement he is able to focus on the joys of being a college student.
Matthew Elwell, Class of 2025All those worries are now alleviated and I can focus on doing my work and having fun at UHart.”
