Remembering Lisa Belanger-Buoniconti

Lisa Belanger-Buoniconti M'01, an accomplished human resources executive who worked at the University of Hartford from 1994 to 2019, died on Monday, Feb. 13.

Following a quarter century at UHart, Belanger-Buoniconti most recently led the U.S. human resources operation for Swarovski. She was a past president of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resouces, and earned an MBA from the Barney School of Business in 2001.

"Lisa was a fixture at the University for many years," says Jen Conley, assistant vice president for human resources. "Her genuine nature, kind heart, and never-ending positivity has forever shaped those who knew her. So many of us are heartbroken over this loss, but know that Lisa would want us to celebrate her life. In Lisa’s honor, find one way each day to express kindness and make someone smile!"

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home in Agawam, Mass. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 20 (beginning at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Agawam. A celebration of Lisa's life will immediately follow).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lisa's name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Online condolences can be shared on the left side of the obituary page.
