Researchers from NASA headquarters and NASA research centers are invited to give talks on their research and working experiences at NASA. Come and join the Discover NASA virtual seminar or join the watch party on campus!
Title of the talk: Conducting High Altitude Balloon Research in Antarctica
Speakers: Erin Reed, PhD, Mission Manager, NASA Wallops Flight Facility

The NASA Balloon Program, in partnership with the U.S. Antarctic Program (managed by the National Science Foundation), supports an annual campaign at the Long-Duration Balloon field station on the continental ice shelf near McMurdo Station, Antarctica. But what happens on campaign? What are the challenges and opportunities for science that Antarctica provides? The perspective from a mission manager who recently returned from Antarctica provides a broad overview of the Balloon Program in Antarctica as well as personal experiences about working and living on this remote continent.
If not attending the University of Hartford Watch party, you must register to participate.
