The University of Hartford’s student-run agency, Crested Communications, is thrilled to welcome Jane Whitney, acclaimed moderator of Common Ground with Jane Whitney, for an in-depth discussion titled "Bridging Divides: A Conversation on Civil Discourse and the Future of Dialogue." The discussion will be on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., in Wilde Auditorium (HJG).
Jane will share her experiences moderating critical conversations on her PBS show, where she brings together voices from across the political and social spectrum. In today’s polarized climate, Jane will discuss why fostering civil discourse is more important than ever and how respectful dialogue can bridge divides, inspire change, and build stronger communities. She will also emphasize why it is crucial for Gen Z to engage in these conversations, as their voices will help shape the future of civil discourse and constructive communication in an increasingly digital world. Join us for this insightful conversation and an opportunity to learn firsthand from an esteemed journalist and leading advocate for civil discourse in media.
The conversation is open to all!
