The Hartt School is thrilled to announce it will host the International Women’s Brass Conference (IWBC) in May of 2025. IWBC, an event dedicated to promoting equity and representation in brass music, brings together musicians, educators, and composers from around the world.
The IWBC’s mission is to educate, develop, support, and promote women brass musicians while inspiring continued excellence and opportunities in the broader musical world.
The conference is held every two years, and draws hundreds of participants, including attendees, presenters, and other artists from all over the world. There are lectures, master classes, concerts, exhibits, as well as competitions where musicians of all ages and genders can compete for cash prizes.
There are many ways to be a part of this exciting event, including attending, presenting or facilitating, competing, or even volunteering! For more information contact IWBC host, Hartt professor Haim Avitsur at avitsur@hartford.edu or visit the IWBC website.
