The Office of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging and the Office of Student Engagement and Inclusion continue to work to create an inclusive community where everyone feels welcomed, and different perspectives are acknowledged. September is Hispanic Latino/a Heritage month, a month dedicated to the accomplishments and history of Hispanic and Latino/a people.
In collaboration, our offices are creating a committee of students, faculty, and staff for Hispanic Latino/a Heritage Month; this committee will help with the planning and implementation of events and programs during the heritage month. We invite members of the UHart community to join us in creating campus-wide opportunities to celebrate the rich heritage of the Hispanic Latino/a community and their many contributions to our local, national, and global communities.
Committee members can anticipate meeting several times this summer as well as continuing to meet through early October to plan and support programs and events. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to maintaining a UHart community that is committed to inclusive excellence and belonging.
