As we approach an exciting new academic year, and in an effort to provide all employees with advance notice of University time off, I am pleased to provide the schedule of University holidays and gift days for fall 2025 through summer 2026.
In support of our student and community well-being, the University will once again provide a Fall Break. UHart’s fall semesters had traditionally continued without a reprieve, from the start of classes all the way to Thanksgiving. Fall Break will be observed once again this coming year to provide a pause in the semester for students, faculty, and staff— and to allow for a mental recharge. This year, Fall Break will take place October 9–10; the University will once again be closed during this time.
In recognition of our deep commitment to students and the dedication of faculty and staff throughout the year, the University is also adding three additional gift days during the upcoming 2025–26 academic year: Wednesday, Nov. 26 (day before Thanksgiving), Wednesday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve), and Friday, Jan. 2. Therefore, we will begin the Winter Break on Dec. 24 and return to campus on Monday, Jan. 5.
All other holiday time will remain as outlined in our employee manual. As always, you are encouraged to use your vacation time to take or extend time off, to enjoy time with friends and family, as well as rejuvenate and recharge.
