Opening weekend is around the corner! Most students will be moving into campus residence halls Thursday, August 21, through Sunday, August 24. During this time, please expect high traffic patterns on and around campus.
A positive move-in experience is an important piece of our success together each year. We can all play a role in warmly welcoming students and families to campus. To help the move-in process go as smoothly as possible, the following changes will be in effect Aug. 21–24:
- Parking will not be permitted in B Lot, F Lot, Rear of Regents, Rear of B Neighborhood Lot, M Lot (Rear of Sports Center), K Lot (Orientation Parking), D Lot (Overflow Parking), or in the Village Quad parking lots. See their locations on the campus map.
- Faculty and staff should park in A Lot or C Lot during the move-in period.
- Traffic will be one-way beginning at the access road leading to the rear of B Neighborhood up to N Lot. Only those who work or have appointments on the residential side of campus will be allowed to park on that side (except behind B Neighborhood)—but they will have to exit campus by going around to the main entrance through the academic side.
Please plan your commute accordingly. If you are able, you may wish to work remotely during this time. Please work with your supervisor to determine the best schedule for your department.
Those looking to assist in various ways during move-in weekend, please note volunteer roles are still open on Friday, Aug. 22, and especially on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 23. If you are interested, please email Nicole Kurker-Stewart. Also consider additional volunteer opportunities the first week of classes to assist students in finding their way around campus.
Thank you for your help and cooperation. We look forward to an exciting move-in weekend!
