UHart in the News: Local, State, and National Perspectives

The last two weeks have seen the University featured in a number of news stories focused on local, state, and national issues. Here are some highlights:

  • The University of Hartford is one of a number of higher education institutions participating in the Connecticut Automatic Admission Program. Shane Cicciarelli, UHart’s associate vice president for enrollment and dean of admission, spoke with FOX61 about how the program is a win-win for students and the University alike.
  • When Connecticut Rep. John Larson launched his reelection campaign amid a possible primary challenge, UHart’s Bilal Sekou was on NBC CT to give his perspective on what this could mean for control of the House in 2026.
  • Sekou also commented in an ABC News story on the death of Charlie Kirk and its impact on Black conservatives.
