Come hear Connecticut poets Dennis Barone and Clare Rossini read from their work as part of the Spring 2026 Cardin Reading Series on Wednesday, April 8 at 1 p.m. in the 1877 Club (Harry Jack Gray Center).
Clare Rossini has published three books: Winter Morning with Crow, winner of The Akron Poetry Prize, Lingo, and The Claudia Poems, and has co-edited the anthology The Poetry of Capital. Last May she was in residence at the Tyrone Guthrie Arts Centre in Ireland. After four decades of college teaching, as well as ten years on the faculty of the Vermont College Low-Residency MFA Program, Clare recently retired. In April 2025, she was appointed Poet Laureate of West Hartford. Visit her website to learn more about her work.
Dennis Barone is a Professor Emeritus in English at the University of Saint Joseph. In 2024, he edited Of Clouds and Mists, poems by Pascal D’Angelo, and co-edited Of Hartford in Many Lights: Celebrating Hartford’s Buildings. In 2025 he edited Poets’ Poets: A Renaissance of Words and authored Far-Dale: New and Selected Poems. His new book Stage Fright: Fifty-Five Stories will be published in 2026.
