Hartt's Lions Gate Trio Concert

The University of Hartford is thrilled to present Visions and Variations, a special chamber music performance by The Hartt School’s internationally-acclaimed resident chamber ensemble, the Lions Gate Trio. The Trio comprised of Katie Lansdale, violin; Darrett Adkins, cello; and Florence Millet, piano.

The recital will be held in the University’s Millard Auditorium on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m.

This concert brings together three radiant chamber works: a beloved jewel from the trio repertoire (Beethoven Kakadu Variations), an unjustly forgotten gem from Belgium (Franck Trio No.1), and a celebration of the brilliant, icy New England winters: River of the Trunk, by Su Lian Tan, with text by John Elder. Featuring Kristen Watson, guest soprano.

This performance is the culmination of the trio’s annual spring residency, an exciting week filled with coachings and masterclasses for The Hartt School’s students and chamber ensembles and performances in the greater Hartford community. The Lions Gate Trio will also be making a very special recording of River of the Trunk, in collaboration with Hartt’s renowned Music Production and Technology program.
