You may have seen national news coverage of a major data breach involving Canvas, a learning management system used by thousands of institutions across the country. We want to reassure the UHart community that this breach does not affect us. The University of Hartford uses Blackboard, not Canvas, and your course data, grades, and communications remain secure.
As part of our ongoing commitment to academic technology security, the Academic Technology Resource Hub includes a Cybersecurity page with practical guidance on data security in Blackboard, course backup and continuity planning, phishing awareness, and more. We encourage all faculty, staff, and students to take a moment to familiarize themselves with these resources.
