Four faculty members have been awarded the Greenberg Junior Faculty Grants for the 2026–27 academic year.
Anna Hogg, Assistant Professor of Cinema, will create Swamp Sowings, an ecosystems essay film centered on swamps and other wetlands as they exist in reality, as transitional zones between adjacent ecosystems, and as they exist in the imaginary - in film and literature.
Dongbin Kim, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, will examine flight endurance for uncrewed aerial systems (ie, drones) through two complementary pathways: heavy-lift concepts aligned with the DARPA Life Challenge and a cable-driven robotic work system that enables persistent operation.
Seong Moon, Assistant Professor, Biomedical Engineering, will use funds to develop and validate a wearable Inertial Measurement Unit-based assessment protocol that integrates controlled destabilization paradigms to advance translational fall risk mitigation strategies for healthcare and aerospace human performance.
Somaye Seddighi-Khavidak, Assistant Professor of Architecture, plans to formalize the Drawdel, a new representational strategy, which reframes “in between” modes of learning – vocalizing and reflective writing, as primary design drivers anchored in material production.
The Greenberg Junior Faculty Grants are intended to promote high-quality scholarships by faculty members who are just beginning their careers. These grants are made possible by a generous gift from Arnold and Beverly Greenberg.
