Beginning in fall 2025, a deadline was implemented for change of major requests due to system issues that arose when students were permitted to change their majors throughout the semester.
For fall 2026, the last day for students to submit a change of major request is Friday, Sept. 4 at 11:59 p.m. Any request submitted by the deadline will proceed through the required approval process. If approved, the student’s academic record will be updated accordingly.
Students will have another opportunity to submit change of major requests during October in preparation for registration for the Spring 2027 term. The deadline for these requests is Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m.
Additionally, change of major requests will be accepted from the end of the Fall 2026 term through the first two weeks of the Spring 2027 term.
If students have questions or concerns about their courses or curriculum while they are waiting for the appropriate timeframe to submit or process a change of major request, they should meet with their academic advisor. Advisors can provide guidance and assistance, particularly when a student’s situation is time-sensitive or falls outside of the established processing periods.
