The Hartt Community Division (HCD) is excited to offer a number of opportunities for all University of Hartford employees (faculty, staff) this fall. Ever "committed to community," these offerings through HCD include a 25% discount for all HCD classes, lessons, adult choir, and adult concert band as well as a free First Steps in Music Friday class (for UHart employees' families with children ages 0–5). Adult Chamber Choir
Under the direction of Brian Reynolds, the ensemble will explore a wide range of mixed-choral repertoire, from cornerstones of the classical repertoire to new music, non-Western composers, and folk traditions from around the world.
The ensemble will rehearse on Monday evenings from 7 p.m.–8:30 p.m. at Wilde Auditorium on the University of Hartford campus. The first rehearsal will begin on Monday, Sept. 14.

Capitol Symphonic Winds
Capitol Symphonic Winds, directed by Professor James E. Jackson, is made up of adult musicians from through Connecticut and performs advanced concert band literature.
Cap Winds rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:15-9:15 p.m. in Bliss Hall in the Fuller Building.

Friday First Steps in Music Classes—Free!
The class will be meeting on Fridays beginning on Sept. 11 from 9:30 a.m.–10:15 a.m. in room 120 of the Fuller Building.
Come and make music with Miss Mallory at First Steps in Music! This program is for children ages 0-5 and their grown-ups. Children and adults are engaged in a variety of activities, including bounces, finger wiggles, action songs, vocal exploration, movement exploration, playing instruments, ball rolling, and more! First Steps in Music is a wonderful opportunity for children to have fun, interact with other children, and bond with their grown-up, all while beginning their journey to becoming tuneful, “beat-ful”, and artful.
This program is taught by Mallory Kokus. She is a FAME Certified First Steps in Music teacher, a professional musician, and mother of three. Mallory is a faculty member of the Hartt Community Division, where she is instructor of saxophone and instructor of First Steps in Music.
