Meet the Panelists
Ashley Fernandez is the founder of Regulated Ambition™, a leadership development platform focused on helping professionals build sustainable leadership practices and long-term success. With more than fifteen years of experience spanning healthcare technology, hospitality, nonprofit organizations, and global corporate environments, Ashley has helped organizations navigate leadership development, communication strategies, and organizational change. Her work explores the intersection of ambition, emotional intelligence, resilience, and workplace leadership. Through coaching, speaking, writing, and executive advising, she empowers emerging and established leaders to achieve success without burnout, emphasizing authenticity, self-awareness, and sustainable growth.
Dr. Daileann Hemmings ’06, M’11, DNP, RN, CLC, CCM is a proud University of Hartford alumna. She leads systemwide strategies to advance equitable maternal health outcomes at Hartford HealthCare. She brings over 25 years of nursing experience across premier institutions, extensive leadership in perinatal care management, and a strong academic foundation in healthcare leadership and policy. A former professor and statewide leader, she contributes to major boards and coalitions while advancing maternal health initiatives locally and internationally. UHart’s investment in her education enabled her to give back to the community by serving on the advisory board for Project Horizon. She uses her knowledge and experience to contribute to the development of others.
Dr. Sharale W. Mathis D’18 is an innovative, strategic, and inclusive leader with over 20 years of experience in higher education across both academic and student affairs, with a deep commitment to faculty and staff empowerment. Currently, Dr. Mathis serves as the inaugural president of CT State Community College, Capital and Tunxis campuses. She formerly held the position of Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs at Holyoke Community College (HCC) in Massachusetts. Dr. Mathis is a national speaker, educator, community organizer, and higher education leader. Currently, she serves on UHart’s College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions Board of Visitors, the American Association of Community College (AACC) Commission on Institutional and Financial Resilience, President’s Round Table (PRT) Executive Board (AACC Affiliate), National Council on Black American Affairs (NCBAA) - Northeast Connecticut Chapter (AACC Affiliate), Greater Hartford Consortium of Higher Education, and Hartford Symphony Orchestra Community Advisory Board. She was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Capital Workforce Partners. Dr. Mathis holds a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Hartford.
Carly MacDougald is a UHart senior studying marketing with minors in project management and supply chain and logistics management. She has thrived as both a student and a leader. She is a member of The Women’s Advancement Initiative’s LEAD (Leadership Education and Development) program, president of the Barney Leadership Council, co-founder and president of the Women in Business Club, Barney representative and finance committee member for the Student Government Association, student ambassador, and Red Key Society tour guide. In her community, she serves as the student representative for the Windsor Locks Board of Education.
