Join us for a book talk with Dr. Jen Manion, a Professor of History and Gender Studies at Amherst College. They’ll be talking about their award-winning book, Female Husbands: A Trans History, which explores the histories of people who were assigned female at birth but lived their lives as men in the 1700s and 1800s. These “female husbands” didn’t just challenge prevailing gender conventions. In many cases, they found a way to legally marry women. Manion will be discussing their research from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies. Come learn about queer history!
