Alcohol EDU For Sanctions:
An online alcohol education program. This online educational sanction is different from the online summer assignment incoming students complete prior to matriculation. E-Check Up For Marijuana: An online educational sanction. The online assessment is coupled with an in-person meeting with a trained professional or graduate student.
Apology Letter:
This assignment asks you to write an apology letter to a specific person. Be advised that this letter cannot be written in a way that justifies your actions. Defensiveness or inappropriate language will not be accepted. You are expected to reflect on the incident that occurred and reflect on how your actions impacted your community as well as the individual(s) you are apologizing to.
Loss of Room Selection Participation:
You cannot participate in room selection, which includes anchoring and living with groups that receive priority housing (RAs, RFAs, etc.). You may re-apply for housing on or after May 1. If a student’s room selection privileges are revoked after room selection has happened, the Office of Residential Life reserves the right to pull the student’s fall housing assignment.
Probation:
Disciplinary Probation A period of review and observation during which a student has been officially notified that his or her conduct is considered a serious matter and subsequent violation of University rules, regulations, or policies could result in a more severe sanction, including suspension orexpulsion from the University. Disciplinary Probation is a status that may involve restrictions, conditions, or terms imposed for a definite period of time not to exceed four full semesters. Restrictions, conditions, or terms of probation may include, but are not limited to ineligibility to participate in University activities or events; required meetings with a designated member of the University staff; restrictions on access to University facilities; and change or loss of housing assignment. Restrictions, conditions, and terms will be imposed for a specific length of time not to exceed the length of probationary period except in the case of change of housing assignment. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the probation, or additional behavior in violation of the Student Conduct Code Regulations during the probationary period, will likely result in more serious disciplinary action. Notation of disciplinary probationary status will be on file through the Student Conduct Office.
Written Assignment:
The nature of each written assignment varies based on your student conduct history and the type of violation you are responsible for. Your conduct officer will provide you with details about your paper, including length, spacing, and content.
Disciplinary Warning:
Disciplinary Warning involves written notice to the student indicating that specific behavior or activity is in violation of the Code and that repetition of similar or other unsatisfactory behavior would likely result in more serious disciplinary action. Notation of the warning will be on file through the Student Conduct Office. For additional listings and descriptions of possible sanctions visit Student Handbook and read the Student Code of Conduct pages 102-105 of the student handbook, The Source (PDF).
