A Dream to Become a Conductor Becomes a Reality for Hartt Doctoral Student
Chris Ramos knew from a young age that he wanted to be a conductor. And soon, it will finally happen. Shortly after he graduates The Hartt School with a doctoral degree in instrumental conducting, Ramos will start the position of director of bands at Utah Valley University.
Talia Schulman '20
Talia Schulman, graduated from the Hartt School with a double major in the Music Education and Cello Performance programs. After graduation she started a position as a long-term substitute of K-5 general music in Stamford, CT, where she plans to remain with the hopes of landing a probationary teaching position in the fall. Schulman credits the Hartt school and music education program with providing her the skills, teaching methods, and practical experiences needed to succeed as she begins her career.

Sarah Stroh ’21 knows the importance of making connections, and that is exactly what she did at UHart! Stroh studied Performing Arts Management at The Hartt School and was involved in local music throughout college. “The four years I had at UHart were the best four years of my life thus far. The friends, connections, and memories I've made are ones that I'll cherish forever,” says graduating senior Tara Micale. She was a Music Education major through the Hartt School and recently accepted a position as a K-5 general music teacher in the West Hartford Public Schools district.
Amanda Milne '20
Graduate Amanda Milne recently received her master’s degree in music instrumental performance (violin) through UHart’s Hartt School. This program, which focuses on Suzuki Pedagogy, is a two-year program lead by internationally acclaimed Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) teacher trainers.

For graduating senior Abigail Pollock, the support and guidance from UHart’s faculty was key to her success as an undergraduate. Abigail studied music education at The Hartt School and was hired before graduation as an elementary general music teacher in Provincetown, MA. Abigail says that her “favorite thing about UHart was the faculty's level of expertise for their crafts.”

Richard Owen Morgan ’02
After graduating in 2002, Richard Owen Morgan, went on to graduate study at the University of Oxford, and later Yale Law School. Starting in August 2013, he has been on a fellowship with New York University School of Law’s Center on Law and Security, where he focusses on comparative intelligence oversight.
