Enhancing the Student Experience
The University of Hartford is deeply committed to reimagining excellence as a campus community, with an unwavering dedication to every student who chooses to call UHart home. A key part of this effort is strengthening the campus infrastructure that supports our students, investing in significant improvements that enhance the overall UHart experience. Creating intentional, accessible, and inspiring spaces continues to be a priority for the University of Hartford.
Zachs Hillel Center
With construction completed in November 2024, the newly created Zachs Hillel Center is UHart's dedicated hub for Jewish life on campus. The Zachs Hillel Center is more than just a center; it is a home for our students to gather, learn, celebrate, and grow together. It is a place where Jewish life at the University of Hartford can flourish like never before, thanks to the generosity of the Zachs family and our generous supporters.
Grant Family Track & Field
The Grant Family Track & Field, which opened in Fall of 2024, is named in recognition of UHart alumnus and member of the Board of Regents, Kevin Grant '82, M '86. The reimagined track and field complex—which features a 400-meter, eight-lane “full pour” track surrounding a new field, as well as an adjacent throwing area—is an important area on campus that supports not just our Track and Field teams and recreation and club sports, but also encourages community building and opens up countless opportunities for traditions and memories to be made.
Tennis and Basketball Facility
A proposed $2.6 million tennis and basketball facility will reinvigorate a large area on the residential side of campus, intended for athletic and recreational programming. This project will allow us to expand our rapidly growing club and intramural sports through the addition of outdoor basketball, pickleball, and tennis, in addition to providing a training and competing space for our intercollegiate Division III student-athletes. The facility will house six new tennis courts, with one court lined to accommodate four pickleball courts, and one new basketball court. Lighting installations will allow for play at all times of the day.
Park River Beautification Project
As part of a long-term plan to add more outdoor gathering spaces throughout campus, the University of Hartford has begun a project to clean and beautify the area alongside Park River adjacent to Alumni Plaza.
Park River has long been a site for student projects and research. The multiphase project aims to create a space for students to safely enjoy spending time at the river. Students can often be found reading or relaxing in the area, or exploring academic pursuits, including painting, photography, and even research in the water.
Konover Campus Center Transformation
At the heart of the residential side of campus is the Konover Campus Center, which is being redesigned to be a vibrant destination where students can connect with one another, enjoy great food, and take advantage of dynamic spaces where they will make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. Through a $2.8 million investment, the renovated space will showcase The Nest, a new spot on campus for indoor and outdoor dining and entertainment.
