Student Leadership in Action
The Executive Board is responsible for leading the Student Government Association and advocating for the needs and interests of University of Hartford students.
These elected student leaders help guide decision-making, support student initiatives, and work closely with University administrators to ensure student voices are heard.
Meet Our Board Members
My name is Royston Lester. I hail from the shores of Guyana and proudly serve as your Student Body President. As a senior Criminal Justice major and passionate activist, I bring a deep commitment to advocacy, inclusivity, transparency, and collaboration.
I lead the SGA with one goal in mind: ensuring that every student receives not only the best possible education, but an unforgettable student experience. SGA is a beacon of servant leadership—for the students, by the students. Together, we are shaping the leaders and trailblazers of tomorrow, people who will strengthen our campus community and transform communities far beyond it.
By amplifying student voices, I hope to spark a transformation that unifies our campus in ways we've never seen before—one where every student feels celebrated, seen, and at home in our UHart house.

In addition to my role in SGA, I serve as President of Activate UHart, the campus social justice and activism organization. I have been an activist and organizer since I was sixteen, and that work goes hand in hand with Student Government — both are rooted in advocating for meaningful change.
This is my third year in SGA. In that time, I have led initiatives addressing food insecurity and campus safety, and I remain committed to ensuring SGA is always responsive to student needs. No matter how the world changes, my goal remains the same: to unite our campus through collaboration and ensure every student has what they need to succeed.

I am committed to advocating for students of all genders, races, and identities, and believe strongly in expanding access to resources for those who may not have had equal opportunities growing up.
Within Student Government, I oversee both the Student Affairs Committee and the Aramark Food Committee, working to strengthen student outreach and enhance campus life. I ensure the Student Affairs Committee remains active and representative, and lead efforts to collect student feedback and collaborate with Aramark leadership to improve dining services.
My goals include creating dedicated spaces and resource hubs for student organizations to collaborate, store materials, and grow, and advocating for stronger, more visible mental health support on campus.
