Interdimensional Timelines: Liz Nielsen, Georgette and Richard Koopman Distinguished Chair

For the 2025-2026 academic year, the Photography Department welcomes Liz Nielsen as a Distinguished Chair. Nielsen’s solo exhibit in the Joseloff Gallery presents recent work of unique photographic objects ranging from small to large-scale works.
Opening Reception: Thursday, March 5, 5–7 p.m.
Koopman Artist Talk: Wednesday, March 25, 5-6:30 p.m., Hillyer Hall - Auerbach Auditorium followed by a Community Dinner

About the Artist
Liz Nielsen lives and works in the Hudson Valley, NY. Her works have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Liz received her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2004, her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2002, and her BA in Philosophy and Spanish from Seattle University in 1997. Nielsen's works have been reviewed in *Artforum*, *The Wall Street Journal, *The New Yorker*, *The Financial Times*, *The British Journal of Photography*, *The New York Times*, *LensCulture*, *FOAM magazine*, and *ArtSlant*; among others.
Nielsen is the recipient of numerous awards including the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Grant, New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Grant, and the Chicago Academic Achievement Program Grant. Residencies include McColl Center for Arts + Innovation in Charlotte, NC and Budapest Art Factory in Budapest, Hungary.
Liz is represented by Miles McEnery Gallery in New York, NY; SOCO Gallery in Charlotte, NC; Black Box Projects in London, England; and Horizont Galerie in Budapest, Hungary.
